Hispanic Broadcasting Radio (HBR) has acquired WHOL 1600 AM, WEST 1400 AM and 99.5 FM radio stations, which are now “Mega 99.5 FM ” marking another very important era in Lehigh Valley Hispanic radio history
“The programming of the station will be full of super stars like Marc Anthony, Romeo Santos, Nicky Jam, J Balvin, among others.” Commented Victor Martinez, President of HBR, a broadcasting and entertainment company that unites four important Latinos in the Music World.
“The Hispanic market adds another vibrant new leader and businessman in the Lehigh Valley. I am honored to announce that my longtime friend and colleague, Victor Martinez will assume the role as the new owner and General Manager of 99.5fm, 1600am, 1400am. He will build upon the tremendous success that my team and I have accomplished over the past 14 years, and bring a new level of enthusiasm, knowledge and major market ideas to the Lehigh Valley” added Matthew Braccili owner of La Ola during the closing of the sale.
Beyond music, the new station will be involved within the community producing quality events. During the first quarter of 2017, MEGA 99.5 will be part of the most significant latin concert “Bachateame Mi Amor” the historic event that honors this musical genre originating from rural neighborhoods of the Dominican Republic, featuring the full live performance of “El Mayimbe” Anthony Santos, Fernando Villalona, star band Bachata Heightz, among others.
